MAX!!!!!
Yes, Max is here! He was born Dec. 4 at 5:48 pm and weighed in at 4 lbs. 9 oz. which is actually pretty big for only 33 weeks. I got to see him for about 2 seconds before they took him to the NICU. He's doing really well. He didn't even have to be intubated and is only on a tiny bit of oxygen and they're about to take him off that too.
We had an amazing experience during the c-section and know that there were many guardian angels watching over us. I can still feel them when I go to visit Max so I know he is in good hands. He is a very cute little guy. He pretty much sleeps all the time because it takes all his energy to breathe, but today he opened his eyes and really looked at me for the first time. It was awesome. I try not to talk too much when I'm with him because it always excites him and makes him breathe faster, so I know he knows who I am but I am content for the moment just to watch him.
I am home as of today. I had a little bit of a rough recovery because I lost a lot of blood. I ended up having a transfusion and that seemed to help a lot because for a while there I wasn't able to lift my arms up. I wasn't able to go see Max until 2 days after he was born, I thought it was going to kill me, but it was all worth it when they let me hold him! I plan on spending a lot of time down with Max in the NICU and luckily I have amazing friends and family that are willing to help out with Megan and all the other things that will have to go on the back burner. Megan is so sad because she can't come to visit Max because of RSV season, she's just going to have to be patient with pictures. :)
We really don't know when Max will come home, the only definite date they can tell us now is the due date, but almost all babies go home way before that and Max is doing so well that I think it's safe to say he'll be home around New Year's.
