| The White Trash Couple at Lagoon |
Growing up, my parents always judged the business of their Saturday by how many trips to Home Depot they had to do. A 3 time run to Home Depot was a BUSY day. Well, we did a 4 time run on Saturday.
We've been working on our sprinklers on and off for 2 weeks now and Toby finally had time to get it done on Saturday. Unfortunately, the spot that needed to be fixed was right underneath one of our big trees up front. So he basically had to dig around all the roots of the tree, fix the pipe, then put everything back. While he was doing that I was mowing the lawn, and spray painting our ugly front porch railing. Between the two of us there were 4 trips to Home Depot and 3 completely neglected kids. We kept telling them that as soon as we were done we'd go to Lagoon. Dinnertime came and we still weren't done and the kids were begging and Lagoon was going to close. So Toby washed off all the mud on him but couldn't get off all the glue. I got as much grass and paint off as I could and put a hat over my white hair and we went. We told Megan she should be embarrassed by us but she was just grateful to finally be at Lagoon. The best part about all of this was that there was a huge dance competition going on at Lagoon that day so there were all the "dance moms" there and their daughters. So we got quite the stares.
I love the fact that Toby dug around the tree to fix the sprinklers. Most people sadly would've said "heck with it" and chopped it down. Spjute (Linz) would've done exactly the same thing (dug around it) to save the beauty. Can't believe it's been 5 years. Don't know if you read my blog but I did a little post about her. So grateful for her example! Happy late Mother's Day....just by your blog I can tell you are a wonderful mother. But man oh man, you sure had the best to learn from.
