Jane & Stonehenge

Look at my long neck!
We went to Jane Austen's home (and barely made it before it closed - another one of those awesome things that happened on the trip). Very cool to see where she lived and where she wrote one of my favorite books of all time.
The next day we went to Stonehenge. I really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was amazing. And to hear how these people built it was crazy! It's built on the top of a beautiful green hill and you can see lots of other rolling hills around you and they said that on the top of all those hills is where they buried their dead. They believed they needed to be in sacred ground (at the top of a hill) and they had to face east. The history was just amazing!
Toby's last English Breakfast

Jane Austen's house. (Don't mind my hair, it rained that day and it went crazy)

The dining room.

The actual table where she wrote her books!

Her bedroom and a creepy mannequin Toby made me take a picture of.

Jane's grave.

Stonehenge!

This is how they moved the huge stones - by rolling them on those logs from miles away!

Highclere Castle is where they film Downton Abbey. One of our top 5 things to do in England. We saw this sign and almost started crying, especially Bish! Bish even tried to pay off the guard at the gate because he knew his womenfolk would not be happy. But the guard didn't want to lose her job. Bummer. I guess we'll have to go back to England!
