Max's elementary school put on Mulan Jr. When Max told me he wanted to be in the play, I took a deep breath and said ok. Rehearsals were EVERY morning for 2 months and I had to volunteer a certain amount of hours, so it was a lot. I told Max not to get his hopes up of being a main character because it was his first play so we were surprised to find out that he got the part of Mushu! He had lots of lines to memorize, but luckily Max can remember anything after he sees it once and he never complained about the rehearsals and worked on his lines without me asking.
We were so surprised when we watched his first show and realized that Max was REALLY good! He was the star of the show! He delivered his jokes right on time and he was hilarious! Toby and I kept looking at each other not believing what we were seeing! Soooo many people came up to us after to say what a good job Max was and asked how many other plays he's done. Max even got a standing ovation. It was awesome. And of course, it was no big deal to Max. I guess he knew he'd be good! And now he wants to do more plays, heaven help us!
