New York City!!

 

We finally made it to NYC!! Thanks to COVID, we've been waiting for this trip for 2 years! And we made it just at the right time because there started to be more restrictions just as we were leaving. We spent a week in NYC and then flew to Palmyra to finish up with church history sites and Niagra Falls. Because of COVID we weren't able to see Broadway shows, but we saw everything else with less crowds! One thing that made us laugh was that we told the kids to be ready to smell a lot of cigarette smoke. Well, you don't smell that as much anymore, now it's more of a marijuana smell! It really was an amazing trip with lots of memories. Our hotel was right on Time Square which was so fun! I loved watching the kids faces as they saw everything for the first time. We invited Bish and Leila to come along because we knew that would be fun (the Johnson's are always fun) and because they've been to New York lots of times and would be able to help us get around much easier. They were good sports and agreed to come! Brace yourself, there will be lots of posts with lots of pictures!

We were pros on the subway by the end of the week and Sam always climbed all over the bars, even if there were other people in the car.

Of course Toby woke up to explore the city on a run.

This photo is all of us thinking "I'm melting!!" It was so hot. In the 90's with a whole heep of humidity. Max said he'd never felt that way before and he never wanted to again. Luckily we only had to suffer through that one day. The days after were unseasonably cool.

Lots of memories for Toby and I in NYC. It's kind of where we started. We remember singing with the madrigals in this hall.
