Savannah Part 2

We went to a Lutheran church on Sunday. I LOVED it. It was so fun to see the similarities. Mostly it was good to see that there are good people out there. And my favorite part was singing This Little Light of Mine with organ accompaniment!
Of course, we had to do a haunted house tour! Unfortunately, nothing too exciting happened but it was a fun night! The guy in this painting is supposed to haunt the house along with his daughter and slave.

We saw lots of houses with slave quarters. This house had a whole wall with just some of the names of slaves that worked in that house.

Apparently Savannah is big on the arts and there's a huge art school there. They have a modern art museum that made me laugh. I must be uncultured.

Yes, those are eggs for heads

But the building was beautiful!

The weather didn't cooperate with us, so we went out to a plantation. But it wasn't a typical southern plantation. It was actually one of the first settlements in the country from when the pilgrims came.

We happened upon the plantation on the one weekend where people come to reenact things. They're all volunteers and we got to see musket firing and canons. It was pretty cool!

The streets are all cobblestone in Savannah, and this was a sidewalk!

We went to a really old cemetery.

We planned our days around food! It was delicious!

Right behind that sign is where Forrest Gump sat on his bench!

I went exploring one morning and came upon this plaque. Super cool.
