Sam participated in Piano Federation. He got Superior rating from ALL the judges and amazing feedback from them. We were all really excited for him because he was really nervous about it because if he got superiors this year then he would get a trophy like his brother and sister. So when he found out he got superiors he was VERY happy but then we found out he did such a good job that they wanted him to play in the Honor's recital with all the other kids that did an amazing job. He wasn't as excited for that!

I was sooo proud of Sam this night. He started playing his song and messed up and couldn't figure out how/where to go on. I wanted to stand up and help him but that's not what you do at recitals. I could even tell that he was starting to cry. He finally figured out where to start and then played his song great. When he was done the whole room cheered loud for him and he even got a standing ovation! But he came back and buried his head in my lap because he was so embarrassed. But after the recital we had a line of people waiting to talk to him to tell him what a great job he did and that's so hard. Every pianist has that happen at some time and that day was Sam's turn. I'm so grateful for kind people that were willing to help him feel better!
