Bryce Canyon

We went to Bryce Canyon over Labor Day. I'm not sure where to start because we did it all! We were all pretty excited to go because it was our last National Park in Utah to cross off our list. It was also our last hurrah with Megan before she left for BYUI the next week. Bryce Canyon is beautiful! Different than all the other parks. So many different colors and things to see. And crazy to think that years and years ago someone could've been walking 50 yards away from it and not know that all those cool formations were just over the horizon!

The first day we woke up early and started on our big hike. We like to do those on the first day because we know our kids will never do it on the other days after they've tried one. So we made this one a doozy! We hiked 7 miles! And we're cursed with the heat. It followed us there. It was in the 80's which doesn't sound terrible but since we're at 9,000 ft. elevation it felt like we were walking on the sun. The kids were troopers and we made it through the Garden, Peekaboo Loop, Navajo Loop and Wall Street. It was worth the blood sweat and bee stings.

After took a break at the pool, ate lunch, it was off to the highlight of our trip: horseback riding! It was so much fun! I forgot how much I love horseback riding. Plus it was super awesome to go lots of miles and no you weren't the one doing the work! Unfortunately, Sam got an ADHD horse that he did NOT bond with. But we're proud of him for sticking it out and grateful that our guide was super nice.

My horse was the best. His name was Cadillac
Toby was on Carla

Megan on Prascilla
Max on Mouse. Mouse did not want to go. Max finally got a whip and had to whip his backside!

Sam on PJ. Too bad they couldn't bond over their ADHD

Can you spot Toby? His orange made him blend into the scenery

Us dying after our 7 mile hike. Out of water and with a bee sting. But grateful for the air conditioned shuttle!
