1 Week Old!
Max is one week old and doing awesome! He's been off oxygen and the heating lamp for 3 days now and has had no problem. The best thing about this is that I can hold him whenever I want for however long I want. The first day they took him off of all this we just sat together for an hour looking at each other. It will definitely be a day I won't forget. We even got to put some normal baby clothes on him. We were also able to bring my parents down that night so that my mom could hold Max before she starts her next chemo treatment. It did my heart good to see my mom holding Max!
So now all Max has to do is figure out how to nurse and he will be home. We started the nursing thing yesterday - he does pretty good but he's always so tired that its hard for him to stay awake to suck longer than a couple times. But I'm sure he'll get it down. But this also means that I have to be at the hospital a lot more and I'm hoping my post c-section body will be able to handle it because I know I've been doing more than I should and I'm afraid I just might crash one day but I know I'm being blessed with the energy I need, I hope it can hold out just a little longer!

April,
ReplyDeleteMax already looks bigger! He is so adorable. And, your mom looks absolutely amazing in that photo. She is such a classy lady! I know you have lots of help with Megan, but let me know if I can bring you dinner. In fact, we can even bring dinner to your parents house if they are in need of that with everyone here visiting. Please let me know if we can help in any way. We love you! Netell
hooray! what a cutie! Classic picture of your dad, love it.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It sounds like he is doing well, let's hope he keeps improving. Good luck with nursing, I'm sure he will figure it out. You poor thing though. I hope your body recovers okay with all the stress. Try to take care of yourself and remember that in so doing you take care of your family as well.
