The last day and Megan's birthday! |
When Megan realized how much money being on the school's dance team cost, and that she was expected to help pay for it, she new she needed to make some serious cash. She'd been babysitting quite a bit all summer, but she knew if she did a kids camp, then she could make a lot of money in a short amount of time. She pulled it all together on her own: made the fliers, passed them out, figured out what she was going to do each day. Then I took her to the store so she could buy her supplies she would need. That was a good concept to teach - you need to spend money to make money! She even interviewed her brothers, then hired them to help her every day for a few dollars - and they did!
She did it for 3 days: Sports Day, Craft Day, and Water Day. She charged $4 per kid and we had about 30 kids each day and she ended up making over $300! She did a great job, and after the 3 days were over, we were all exhausted and our trampled grass took a week to finally recover. Now all the kids ask her when the next one will be!

We got Toby out there to do Simon Says with the big kids one day |

Duck Duck Goose was a favorite with the littles. |

The water balloon sling shot was a big hit! |
Megan and Max had a piano recital and they both did great! It wasn't their best performance because I don't recommend going on vacation and not touching a piano the week before. It's always fun when Max plays because people can't believe that small of a kid can be that good. It was a really good recital because one of the graduating seniors played a concerto and it was amazing! He practices for at least 2 hours every day. I made sure my kids noted that!
