Here's a bunch of things that kept us busy in May.
 |
Megan had her last choir concert. She's really enjoyed being in concert choir. |
 |
She played her ukulele for one of the songs. |
Sam had soccer and was soo happy that he was the orange team. They were a really good team this year and Sam is finding his spot as midfielder since he can run and run and doesn't get tired! Every time he scored a goal this year, he did a dance from fortnight. He thought he was sooo cool.

I helped out with Max's Mountain Man Rendezvous. First time ever that we had to move it inside because of the weather, and we weren't able to put up the huge tepee! So sad. |
 |
I made it to the last 2 minutes of Sam's class singing the same songs I've heard with my other kids. It's 30 minutes long!! I just feel bad for the kids that have to sit there. Sam came up to me after crying (I thought he was going to be mad at me for getting there late) because his legs had fallen asleep from sitting that long! |
 |
Megan's dance team performed at the final assembly. So long Jr. High! |
 |
The kids tried for 2 nights to sleep on the tramp with our club house on top, but the weather just wouldn't cooperate. So the basement was the next choice. |
Sigh. I could laugh, cry, scream about these kayaks!! Really they've impacted our lives since January - that's how long the YM have been working on them. But May just took the cake. Toby was gone EVERY night helping the YM build them. I wanted to call up all the YM's parents that Toby was helping because they were behind and tell them thank you for not helping your child so that my husband can help him and not be with his family for the entire month!! But Toby wouldn't let me. Toby was MIA for May physically and mentally. Between work and planning for this camp his brain was fried, and I don't blame him. As we speak, he is on the camp out so hopefully after Sat. night we can have our husband/father back!

Testing out the kayaks at Farmington pond. |
As much as I hate the word 'kayak' now, it really is cool that all the YM (close to 30) made these kayaks. I'm sure it's something the boys will always remember.
And if the YM aren't appreciative to the leaders, I'm going to send Sam over to knock some sense into them!
They made kayaks! I didn't even know that was possible! No wonder Toby was stressed!
