The Major

I forced the family to hike up to see The Major with me. It's a giant flag they have flying over a canyon in Ogden in honor of Major Taylor who was their mayor and died in Afghanistan. It only flies for a week, so you have to be quick. We didn't really know where the trailhead was or how long the hike was, we just figured we'd drive until we see it - and it worked! Although the hike was longer than what we thought - 5 miles! It was totally worth it, even though there were tons of people with the same idea. All the people on the trail were so nice! We even ran into our neighbors!

       We did a terrible job of staying on the path. With so many people on it, we did lots of shortcuts so we could get in front of the crowds.
