The Project

Before
We have had a 'project' going ever since the pandemic hit. Not the ideal time for lots of reasons. However, it did mean I had extra time to get things done that would've normally taken weeks. And we definitely did our share to boost the economy!
I FINALLY got new wood floors! (insert happy dance) I got rid of the horrid 80's white square tile that was everywhere. And since we got new wood floors, we decided this would be the opportune time to take down the wall paper and paint, and since we had to take the railing down we decided we should just get a new railing, and since the railing was down, we REALLY needed to get the bookshelves painted since you can only paint the side when the railing is down. See how it all went? With a few minor hiccups, I love the way it all came together. Although, with how tired I am from doing all the projects, I would like anything at this point. The only thing we have left to do is the kitchen but at this point I really like my kitchen and don't see anything wrong with it! ;) That's how much I don't want another project anytime soon.

Sigh. The wallpaper was not willing to go. It pulled off parts of the wall. Thanks to our awesome neighbor, he came and mudded it for us before the floors got installed.
I love having a teenager - she can actually help!! WE never would've gotten it done without Megan. Thanks to Covid, she was actually home.
Sam thought it would be fun to play lacrosse inside during construction until his ball went down the return air vent. That was super fun!
What you're missing in these pictures is my swollen wrists and hands from removing wallpaper, and painting non stop. You also miss the night I spilled paint down the stairs, Megan was the only one home that night and was lucky enough to help me clean it up. You also miss the kids being sick of having worker mans in our house everyday and having piano lessons in the basement because of the noise. I know, first world problems, but we are really happy to be done!
