Back to School

The kids went back to what we hopefully will be a 'normal' school year, but we shall see. They don't have to wear masks, but that could change too! Max is in 7th and starting Jr. High! He was nervous but mostly excited. I think he's mostly excited to hopefully be challenged academically. He's the only one of his friends that already had a sibling go to jr. high so he was excited to show his friends around the school and how to open their lockers. Megan is a Sr.! My heart breaks a little everyday knowing that she's closer to leaving me. She's taking some fun classes and college classes with hopes to graduate with her associates degree. Sam is in 5th and is excited to be the only Johnson in elementary school. He was very excited to wear his orange Air Jordan's and I was laughing when he came home the first day with a blister. He refused to admit it was from his new shoes! Sam was so excited for school to start that he left so early he walked to the school, took some pics with his friends, walked back home to say goodbye, and then walked to school with his other friends. He is a social butterfly.

I started teaching again. I couldn't believe how much better it was this year compared to last when we were all in masks wondering if we were going to die!

Megan's burn must be documented. She burned it with wax. Don't ask. This looks worse than it is, just a little.

Max went hiking with the YM
Sam and Toby took advantage of the awesome weather we've been having and went to ride bikes up at Fruit Loops. The night was so pretty they decided to ride their bikes home instead of drive. They were coming off the mountain as the sun was setting and Toby didn't see a chain across the trail entrance and it clothes lined him. Toby broke the chain! Luckily his bike was ok. And Toby was ok too. He's got a nasty bruise on his wrist. Sam may never be the same from witnessing it. And I want to sue the people who put the chain up illegally on public property!
