Washington D.C. Part 1

We had grand plans to go to Washington D.C. over spring break because who goes there for spring break right? Well, all the 8th graders from California do in case you were wondering. There were buses of 8th graders everywhere. I never want to see another 8th grader again. But besides that we had a great trip! We did have a Home Alone moment running through the airport to catch our connecting flight, but that makes things more exciting! We saw all the things and the weather was only kind of bad one day. We walked about 12 miles everyday so we were exhausted. The only other trip we've walked that much is our Disneyland trip. The boys say they'd rather walk the 12 miles in Disneyland - I don't blame them. But now they have culture and we can do other fun things. We stayed in a little town home airbnb just outside the city - which was really nice for us all to have our own beds and 2 bathrooms! We rented a car so we could go visit Gettysburg and Mt. Vernon and even though we thought we were going to die a couple of times, we actually enjoyed their style of driving - fast and efficient! I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

I wanna touch it!

Thomas Jefferson's library

I caught this picture of Sam after he had eaten ALL his lunch and a huge piece of chocolate cake. He was one happy boy!
