At Farmington Pond |
I loved Christmas this year. I loved having it on a Sunday so we could take a minute out of our day to worship Christ. We also had a fun break. We packed in as much fun as we could with lots of movies, sledding, games and family. We need a break from our break! It was a sad morning today to send the kids off to school (especially painful since we all had to wake up early for piano!).
Christmas Eve was just our family this year, one of my favorites. We went running in the morning to Farmington Pond, went to a movie, and came home to a yummy dinner. After dinner we did talents, sibling gifts, a game and my favorite - the testimony meeting. I always love to hear what my kids have to say.
This year's talent show was fun and unexpected! Sam showed us how he dresses up like the box man and delivered us each a box. Max played a Christmas duet with me. And Megan made a pretty cool movie to show us. It was all awesome.
We decided since Christmas fell on a Sunday that we wouldn't open presents until after church. This was particularly hard for Sam who didn't go to sleep until 10:30 and woke up at 4:30! We put up a nice barrier so no one could peek. But it was a great surprise to wake up to a white Christmas! It was beautiful. We went to church and sang in the choir while Sam annoyed our neighbors asking them when the meeting would be over. Then we finally made it home to open presents!
Since that went pretty quickly we decided to bundle up and go enjoy the magical snow outside. We walked all the way to the sledding hill in the middle of the roads (since they hadn't been plowed). Toby pulled the kids on the sleds and Megan and I enjoyed the beauty of the snow. We hit the sledding hill and had it all to ourselves!
It was a magical Christmas that I think we will all remember!

Sam's talent - the box man. He's got high goals. |

I love this picture. Sam was throwing a fit because the game wasn't 'fair'. And then the next second, he was fine. Typical Sam. |

Megan gave Max a Pokemon puzzle. Max has put it together at least a hundred times. |

Hugs! |

Sam got Megan some boots. |

Aren't those jammies hilarious! Megan got Sam a storm trooper. |

They didn't even notice their other presents for about 10 minutes. |

Sam's 'real life kid working tools'! That's right. There's a saw. And his favorite uncle Jake gave him some wood to saw. He goes out everyday to work on it. And yes, he's already cut himself. |
 |
Max couldn't believe that Santa brought him 4 Pokemon balls! |
